Leading online gaming software provider Microgaming has just launched the highly- anticipated ‘Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’ slot. This is the company’s first game to utilise their new Cinematic Spins technology, which allows players to view clips from the film with each spin.

Microgaming was allowed to use footage from Lord of the Rings after entering a multi-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros Digital Distribution. Microgaming CEO, Roger Raatgaver said that this was an “important deal for Microgaming and highlights our commitment to partner with the right brands, at the right time”. This slot will feature clips from the Lord of the Rings trilogy and will also include different characters, themes and symbols from each movie.

Microgaming’s Cinematic Spins technology also uses movie clips as a background behind the reels, offering an entirely unique and exciting gaming experience. Some of the scenes taken from Lord of the Rings include the attack at Weathertop, Uruk- hai in the forests of Middle-Earth and Balrog journeying through the Mines of Moria. In addition, some of the characters featured on the reels include Frodo, Saruman, Aragorn as well as the evil Black Riders.
