Mobile Gaming Sector on Target to exceed $48 Billion by 2015

New market research has indicated that mobile casino gaming could surpass the $48 billion mark in the next five years. A 94-page report entitled “Mobile Gambling Markets: Casinos, Lotteries & Betting 2010-2015”, which was compiled by Juniper Research – a leading analyst firm for the wireless sector – claimed that the increase in mobile casino users and the gradual liberalisation of gambling in the US will make mobile gaming one of the most profitable sectors of the industry.
The report also stated that more “end-users” are opting for multiplayer gaming applications, while an increasing number of service providers are sticking to the browser-based approach, rather than promote their games through the AppStore (even though Apple has recently permitted gambling iPhone apps).
Although it has been the Japan Racing Association’s iPAT service that has received the majority of worldwide mobile gambling transactions, providers in the UK are still considered to be the market leaders.
But after China’s mobile library service was launched by VODone, this market has been growing at a rapid rate. Similar mobile library services are also about to be introduced to the US and this will be another new territory that is sure to see a dramatic increase in mobile gaming users.
